The Creatresse
I adopted the moniker Creatresse because of my passion for creativity. Growing up in Haiti, I learned how to create portraiture from an encyclopedia series in my parents small library collection. Since that day, learning and creativity has been forever linked.
When I attended the Rhode Island School of Design, I learned the value of collaboration. I learned that to be successful as a creative, you not only had to develop your skills as individuals, but it was as important to cultivate relationships and connections, share ideas and be open to critique.
Inspired by Chicago’s founder, Jean Baptiste Pointe du Sable, who shared the same Haitian origin as me, I felt called to move to this vibrant city on faith alone. Despite not knowing anyone in the city, I stayed open to forming new connections which lead me to start a career at Leo Burnett.
My insatiable desire to learn and collaborate has continued to lead me down many paths on my creative journey and has made me determined to gain mastery in all her forms of expression.

The Expression
Art Direction

I first stumbled upon art direction while creating for a couple of school project where I thoroughly enjoyed the process of planning a shoot and crafting a story through the lens of photography and video enlisting my friends to help her capture my vision. Since then it’s been my favorite part of art direction.
Design

My education in graphic design has informed me to create digital and print campaigns carefully crafted with a special attention towards typography and visual exploration. I try to stay abreast of trends and cultural movements while also adding my own artistic flair to my designs .
Sculpting

My journey of discovering sculpture started in 2019 when I was inspired to create a sculpted candle. I decided to take a course in figurative sculpture at a local ceramic studio in Chicago, and I have not looked back since, diving deeper into the world of sculpting and taking residence in my own ceramic studio space at The Digs Chicago.
Perfumery

Earlier this year in 2024, I completed a 6 weeks Perfumery Intensive course at Institute of Art and Olfaction. My motivation to take this course was to deepen my knowledge of crafting fragrance and incorporate scent as an extension of my creative practice. I hope to create scents inspired by the Black experience and my Haitian Heritage.
